Say what you want the official to do — oppose a proposal, support a bill, hold a hearing, or speak publicly.
Use the elected official’s name in the post even when tagging the account.
Use the official office or government account when possible and verify the account before tagging.
Use the bill number, policy name, agency action, or issue in plain text.
One official + one issue + one ask is stronger than tagging a long list of unrelated accounts.
Link to credible supporting information when it helps people understand the issue.
Name the official anyway and, when appropriate, tag the relevant office, committee, caucus, agency, or directly related account.
