WE DID IT.

From the streets of San Luis Obispo County to ballot boxes across America, people stood up for democracy. We marched. We filled public meetings. We stood with neighbors whose rights and safety were under attack. And on election night, voters across the country and our county made it clear. Democracy belongs to the people.

Indivisible groups and their partners helped build No Kings into a nationwide movement and carried that energy to the ballot box. On October 17, early voting surged in counties that held No Kings: Vote Early events, according to TargetSmart data shared by Indivisible. In its November 4 election report, Indivisible said more than 60 million Americans voted early, an increase of more than 30 percent over the last midterms.

To everyone who helped build this movement: this victory is yours. We have every reason to celebrate. And we have a responsibility to use the power we built together—to defend our neighbors, hold our leaders accountable, and make people’s lives better.

This election was a repudiation of Trumpism. Voters rejected the cruelty, the contempt for democracy, and the idea that holding power puts anyone above the law. Now we have a chance to repair what’s been damaged: to restore the public services people depend on, defend the rights that have come under attack, and demand a full accounting from those responsible. The same people who organized to win this election have a place in deciding what happens next.

A NEW MAJORITY NEEDS LEADERSHIP EQUAL TO THIS MOMENT.

Democrats must create a real choice about who leads them in Congress. Anyone seeking to lead this new majority must tell the public what they’ll fight for, how they’ll confront obstruction, and what people can count on them to deliver.

We need leaders who will defend the rights and safety of our neighbors, take on the costs families face every day, and use the full power of congressional oversight to hold this administration accountable. Voters gave this new majority the power to act. We expect its leaders to use it.
